About the National Forum
The HRNZ National Forum is a key advisory and consultative body that represents the collective interests of New Zealand’s harness racing community. Established to strengthen industry-wide collaboration, the Forum provides a structured platform for clubs, kindred bodies, and regional representatives to engage with HRNZ’s leadership on strategic matters affecting the sport.
The Forum serves as the voice of the industry, offering valuable insights and recommendations to help shape policies, governance decisions, and long-term planning. It plays a crucial role in ensuring that grassroots perspectives are heard at the highest levels, fostering a transparent and inclusive approach to industry development.
Through regular meetings, discussions, and submissions to the HRNZ Board, the National Forum contributes to key areas such as race programming, funding distribution, industry governance, and growth initiatives. By working alongside Regional Forums (Northern, Upper South Island, and Southern), the Forum ensures that regional challenges and opportunities are effectively addressed.
Participation in the Forum is open to industry stakeholders who are committed to enhancing the future of harness racing. It provides an opportunity for individuals and organisations to contribute to meaningful discussions and influence the direction of the sport.
