Harness Racing New Zealand is committed to developing and implementing advanced equine welfare practices. Horses are the centerpiece of our industry, and we are committed to ensuring that they are given the appropriate care and attention both during and after their racing life.

Harness Racing New Zealand is providing new tools to support participants to understand their obligations under the new Horse Care Regulations and help ensure the welfare of all our Standardbreds.

Increased investment in equine welfare is already paying dividends with a variety of initiatives and increasing positive statistics driving better welfare outcomes for Standardbred racehorses.
