Hi guys,

I am just writing in to tell you about my superstar Mavvy aka Battle Commander.

What can I say- big things really do come in small packages.

After getting Mav on a whim a couple of months ago after nearly being at the point of wanting to give up riding, I can finally say I have found my best friend.

From our very first ride together to now, he has gone out of his way to look after me and be an absolute gentleman.

After a bad head injury a few years ago I had lost all my confidence, but finding mavvy and having this amazing relationship already has made me realise just how much horses get you through life.

I am aiming to keep going out trekking with my partner around the North Island, as he loves going on big adventures and is so sure footed.

Now that he has shown some potential at jumping after jumping logs at the forest I might try get back into the showjumping ring with him.

Standardbreds really are the most amazing horses.

The picture with them with glasses is Mavvy (Battle commander) with his best friend/paddock mate Zeus (Fox in Sox) and that is Zeus's head in all the pics as my partner rides him.
