Banks Peninsula Trotting Club meeting moved to Orari
The Banks Peninsula Trotting Club's next meeting will now be held at Geraldine.
The club's home track at Motukarara is currently under repair and with the club not able to guarantee its readiness in time for the September meeting the decision has been made to transfer it to Orari.
"We are taking a cautionary approach," says Banks Peninsula Trotting Club President Chris Brown, "but now we have made the decision it's important that people know what the situation is."
The Orari meeting will be held on the same day as originally scheduled - September 20.
With the safety of horses and industry participants being paramount, a number of interested parties, including club officials and experts from PGG Wrightson Turf, will assess progress at Motukarara in mid August, and then determine its immediate racing future.
"Ideally we would like to be racing there in November but we just to see how the remediation work pans out," says Brown.
