Williams, Williamson and Gray talk Oamaru

The Oamaru Harness Racing Club has continued to provide all of the information punters need ahead of the huge Placemakers Hannon Memorial meeting on Sunday.

Following interviews with Mark Purdon and Cran Dalgety, the Oamaru HRC Facebook page features more chats with leading trainers and drivers who have key runners entered in our feature races.

Racing journalist Jonny Turner caught up Tim Williams to discuss the progress of Alta Wiseguy who goes into the Hannon Memorial second up on the back of a big win in the New Brighton Cup.

The Steve and Amanda Telfer trained pacer could put himself in the perfect position to win on Sunday with another of his signature brilliant beginnings.

Jonny Turner also caught up with Nathan Williamson who brings Pembrook Playboy back for a second shot at the Hannon.

The Southland pacer ran a very unlucky fourth in the race last year, going to the line full of running without getting a crack at the leaders.

Brett Gray also joined Jonny Turner to discuss the team he brings north to Oamaru on Sunday.

The trainer starts three runners on Hannon day, including Peregrine who looks a big hope in the inaugural running of the Group Three Jasmyn’s Gift Stakes.
