Select set of drives for Bob Butt at Addington tonight

By Dave Di Somma, Harness News Desk

The in-form Bob Butt will have just three drives but could still be a big factor at Addington tonight.

Two of his drives Zoltan Boscik and Major Cyclone opened favourites in their respective races, with Carrera Hombre also well-supported in the last of the night.

Zoltan Boscik has had a win and a second since joining Butt's Woodend beach stable and is currently at $1.80 in  the Chester's Plumbing and Bathrooms Handicap Trot (5.40pm).

"He seems great," Butt says of his Majestic Son six-year-old, "I've been rapt with his last two races."

"But I respect Phil's horse."

That horse, the Phil Williamson-trained Tarragindi ($3.40), who's gunning for a third win in a row, will be driven by Oliver Kite.

Tellingly though Zoltan Boscik will start 10 metres ahead of his southern rival.

Tyron Eros (20 metres) is also well in the market after finishing fourth in his first start for new trainer Gerard O'Reilly.

In Race 3, the Hahn Construction Trot (5.56pm) Butt will again link up with the Hayden and Amanda Cullen-trained Major Cyclone.

The combo was fourth last start behind Dornish Hill.

"He gets into this field pretty good," says Butt, "he was a fraction slow last week so hopefully he can ping away better."

He opened at $3.10 and has since come into $2.60.

In Race 10, the Gold Band Taxis Mobile Pace (9.31pm) Butt is happy with the way his own horse Carrera Hombre is tracking but is wary of race rival Razor Horizon, a newcomer to the Cran and Chrissie Dalgety barn.

The American Ideal three-year-old, to be driven by Anthony Butt, has won two in Victoria as well as two trials in this country including one at Rangiora last week.

"That one trialled very good," Butt says.

Off the back of that trial Razor Horizon is a $1.70 favourite.

Carrera Hombre ($5.50) has won two from 13 and looks an each way prospect following his fourth and a fifth placings in his most recent starts.
