New date for 2YO Trotting feature
A new date has been confirmed for the Group 3 Entain two-year-old trot.
Originally it was scheduled for Diamonds Day at Invercargill in April but didn't get off the ground because of insufficient entries.
Now, after consultation with Entain and the NZ Metropolitan TC, it's been agreed the race will be held at Addington on Friday, September 27. The Group 3 feature will be worth $50,000.
"The timing works well because it comes just two weeks before the Harness Million 2YO Trot at Addington," says HRNZ's National Handicapper Andrew Morris, "and is part of a range of races available in the latter part of the season for two-year-old trotters."
They include the Macca Lodge 2YO Trotting Fillies Classique at Addington on October 25 and the IRT Sires' Stakes 2YO Trotters Series, with Preludes at Alexandra Park (September 27), and Addington (October 18) before the Group 2 IRT Sires' Stakes 2YO Trotters Championship at Addington on November 15.
There will also be the Aces races for both sexes as part of the Grand Prix series at Addington on November 29.
