Methven's 3000 club showdown postponed
The Methven Trotting Club's plan to get New Zealand's three most successful drivers together has been put on hold.
It was intended to have the only three drivers to have driven more than 3000 winners - Maurice McKendry, Tony Herlihy and Ricky May - involved in a series of six races this Sunday.
But with the whole of New Zealand at red it has been decided to postpone it for the meantime, and look at re-scheduling it for possibly late April.
Sunday's meeting will go ahead with the Club expecting to have four pods of 100 people on course, including one for the general public.
People wanting to go will need to register with the club by contacting : manager@methventrottingclub.co.nz.
Owners with horses racing on the day are welcome on-course and do not have to pre-register.
