Gore Harness Racing Club's new travel incentive

After a short winter break racing begins again next week with the Gore Harness Racing Club meeting at Young Quinn Raceway in Wyndham on Thursday, August 11.

In order to encourage northern trainers to bring horses down for the meeting the club has come up with a great idea to make the trip south more attractive.

Trainers bringing truckloads of 5 or more horses will get their trucks filled with fuel (for free!) at McKeown Petroleum’s Fuel Stop in Gore on their way home.

This offer is available to trucks travelling to the race meeting from Waikouaiti and further north only.

Phillips Horse Transport is also offering specials for horses travelling to the meeting.  Brodie has advised he can pick up in Canterbury on the Wednesday and return the horses home on the Friday. Contact Brodie for the special rate, 027 941 1334.

Nominations close Monday 8th August at noon with Southern Harness.

The Club will also be taking donations on the day for the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust, donations can be lodged at the Secretary’s Office for this worthy cause.
