First rankings out for New Zealand Trotting Cup and Renwick Farms Dominion Trot

The first rankings are out for the New Zealand Trotting Cup and the Renwick Farms Dominion Trot to be held at Addington Raceway on Tuesday, November 10.

Nominations for both Group 1 features closed on Monday, with 33 in the Cup and 44 for the Dominion. 

Guaranteed the top two positions in the Cup are defending champion Kingman and 2025 Auckland Cup winner Republican Party with 2025 Dominion winner Gus and 2026 Rowe Cup winner Mr Love at the top of the Dominion rankings.

In the Cup the superstar that is Leap To Fame ranks third, though he is the $1.80 favourite on the TAB market with dual New Zealand Cup winner Swayzee at four, and Merlin at five.

In the Dominion Keayang Zahara, the overwhelming favourite currently at a $1.35 quote, is third.

The ranking panel consists of HRNZ's Head of Racing and Wagering, the HRNZ Handicapper, the NZ Metropolitan Trotting Club Racing Manager, the NZMTC Racing Secretary, and the NZMTC Board Representative.

Rankings will be updated weekly before the final rankings on Tuesday, November 3, a day after the Kaikoura Cup meeting.

AUTOMATIC QUALIFIERS :

Friday (tomorrow) sees the first of the automatic qualifiers for the New Zealand Trotting Cup, with the running of the Allied Security Maurice Holmes Vase (7.58pm)
