Condition alteration approved for Sires' Stakes
An amendment has been approved by Harness Racing New Zealand for four current New Zealand Sires' Stakes-administered series.
Effective immediately, all emergencies selected in these series who subsequently gain a start, cannot scratch and start in another race on the same programme.
"Put very simply, the Sires' Stakes eligible horses will only be able to accept for any other race on the programme if the Sires' Stakes race field is full," says NZ Sires' Stakes Executive Martin Pierson.
"We think this change will certainly be good for the integrity of the Sires' Stakes Series and racing in general."
The four series which will be effected are :
The Nevele R 3YO Fillies Series 44
The Dunstan Horsefeeds Sires’ Stakes 2YO Fillies Series 39
The Woodlands Studs Sires’ Stakes 2YO Colts & Geldings Series 39
The Lone Star Sires’ Stakes 2YO Trotters Series 39
