$110,000 top bid at NZB yearling sales in Christchurch
A price of $110,000 has topped day two of the NZB Standardbred Yearling Sales.
After yesterday's massive day in Auckland bidding was much more subdued as the trotters went under the hammer in Christchurch.
The top price of $110,000 was paid by the Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan Racing Stables for a Tactical Landing - Petite One filly (Lot 183).
And it was another Purdon who had the second highest purchase, with Mark Purdon's All Stars Stables going to $70,000 for an Andover Hall - One Over Da Stars colt.
Other high profile purchasers included Team Dunn's Diamond Racing who bid $50,000 for a Love You - Saxon Rose colt (Lot 196) and Tony Herlihy who bought an En Solitaire - Moment of Beauty colt for $37,000.
Yesterday in Auckland 97 lots sold for a total of nearly $6m. The average was $61,557 (up 23%), with the top lot sold for $260,000.
The pacers are up for sale on Tuesday from 1pm.
