Next Gen makes harness racing ownership even more exciting with exclusive bonuses designed to reward owners, trainers, and breeders. These rewards are part of HRNZ's commitment to fostering sustainability, collaboration, and growth within the sport. Whether you’re competing in the Harness Million races or starting your 2YO campaign, these rewards celebrate your success.

Next Gen Bonuses

1. Harness Million Bonuses

Amount: $50,000 Bonus per Race.
Details: Awarded to the first Next Gen horse across the line in each of the three Harness Million 2YO races.
- Distributed as:
  - $35,000 to the owner.
  - $10,000 to the trainer.
  - $5,000 to the breeder.
Annual Total: $150,000.

2. 2YO Second Start Bonus

Amount: $5,000 Bonus per Horse.
- Distributed as:
  - $4,000 to the owner.
  - $1,000 to the trainer.
Annual Limit: First 90 horses to qualify, with a total payout of $450,000.

Eligibility Criteria for Bonuses

To qualify for Next Gen bonuses, horses must:

Be purchased at the 2025 NZB Standardbred National Yearling Sales.
Meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Owned 30%+ by first-time HRNZ owners or individuals born after 1984.
- Trained by a Next Gen trainer (non-Group 1 winning trainer as of January 1, 2025).
- Sired by a stallion in his first three New Zealand crops.

How to Claim Bonuses

Ensure your horse is purchased at the 2025 NZB National Yearling Sales. Our system will automatically track eligibility for Next Gen bonuses, making the process seamless for you.
Work with your trainer or syndicate manager to confirm eligibility.
Bonuses are automatically distributed after eligibility verification. You will receive confirmation from HRNZ once the bonus has been processed.
