Yabby Dam Farms 2YO Trotters Classic announced
Australian-based breeding powerhouse Yabby Dam Farms has announced plans to run a $75,000 2YO Trotters Race in Canterbury during the Spring of 2030.
“I am extremely passionate about the sport and want to provide a race for owners, breeders and trainers to aspire to win. A race that can become a genuine target on the calendar,” Yabby Dam Farms owner Pat Driscoll commented.
The Yabby Dam Farms 2YO Trotters Classic will be open to fillies, colts and geldings by Yabby Dam Farm stallions produced from 2026 season coverings.
“We have a very attractive and varied array of stallions for breeders to choose from. From one end of the YDF stallion roster to the other, there is a great chance of producing progeny capable of contending a future Classic final,” Driscoll said.
The New Zealand initiative follows the announcement of two $75,000 Yabby Dam Farms 2YO Classic Finals, (one for fillies and one for colts and geldings), to be held in Victoria, also in 2030.
Yabby Dam Farms has 12 stallions available in New Zealand on its roster, along with five available in Australia only.
To celebrate the announcement of the Yabby Dam Farms 2YO Trotters Classic, YDF are offering a 20% discount off advertised service fees on their chilled stallions based in New Zealand. To be eligible for this discount, all breeders need to do is book their mare, have their service contract signed, and pay the semen collection and processing fee of $250+GST before September 30th, 2026.
