Win launches B D Joe into top five
B D Joe has been the big mover in the latest rankings for the IRT New Zealand Cup at Addington on Tuesday, November 8.
His win in last Friday's Canterbury Classic has seen the Steve and Amanda Telfer-trained star climb 11 places, from 16th to fifth, behind stablemate Alta Wiseguy (4th) and the top three of Copy That, Self Assured and Heza Sport.
Akuta, who could do no better than fourth at Addington last Friday in the Lazarus 3YO Stakes, has dropped one place from tenth to 11th. On the TAB fixed odds market Akuta is a $7 second co-favourite along with defending champion Copy That and Australian raider Rock N Roll Doo. The early favourite for the Cup is 2020 champion Self Assured ($2.80).
Self Assured's next appearance will be in an eagerly-anticipated Methven Cup this Sunday against a top quality field that includes Spankem, defending champion Cranbourne, and South Coast Arden.
Smokin Bandar's win in Friday's feature trot at Addington has seen the southern star move up six places, from 22nd to 16th, for the Renwick Farms Dominion Trot on Show Day, November 11. Hot favourites Sundees Son and Muscle Mountain remain at number one and three (with Bolt For Brilliance between them) despite galloping out of contention last Friday.
The only other change of note is Matua Tana (now 11th) and Habibi Inta (12th) swapping places.
