Wilson House takes out NZ Junior Driver Championship

Wilson House has claimed his first McMillan Equine Feeds NZ Junior Driver Championship after two more wins in Sunday's second day of heats at Ashburton.

After Friday's three heats at Alexandra Park House had a two point lead going into the final four heats.

At one stage he was actually headed by Harrison Orange by one point after his win in Heat 5 with the Robbie Holmes-trained Adamas.

But House rallied to win the seventh and final heat with the Peter and Mitchell Robertson-trained Heaven to finish with 79 points. He also won Heat 4 with Majestic Monkey, trained by Coaster Howe.

Overall he won three of the championship's seven heats.

Today's other heat (Heat 6) was won by Seth Hill with the Mark Jones-trained Kowhai Star.  

House finished 16 points clear of Emily Johnson (63 points) who made a late charge after starting the day in equal fifth position. 

Orange was third one point behind (62) with defending champion Carter Dalgety fourth (60).
