Wide open line-up in tonight's feature trot at Addington

By Michael Guerin

John Dunn won’t choose between the stable’s two big winning chances in the $50,000 Future Wealth Sires’ Stakes Trot (8.38pm) at Addington tonight.

But dig a little deeper and One Over Da Line could have an advantage over Rock Lobster in the race which would have been the big autumn target for many involved tonight.

The pair both bring great recent form into a stacked contest made even more challenging by the field size.

Dunn will partner Rock Lobster ($5.50) while Tim Williams drives One Over Da Line ($6.50) but their quasi trainer says there is nothing between them.

“If you ask me to choose one for the punters I really couldn’t separate them,” says Dunn.

“They are both racing so well and either could win.

“But it is also a very good field with a lot of depth so there are plenty of other winning chances.”

With big fields come traffic and often pressure and Dunn admits One Over Da Moon might handle those challenges better as he has probably the superior manners at this stage of his career.

As well as Team Dunn is racing at the moment there are a lot of winning chances in the 2600m stand, with Donna’s Boy having show great potential last campaign, Freya racing well, Princess Sadie back from a spell and Nellie Doyle clearly the tightest assessed horse in the race but facing a 20m backmark.

Earlier in the night Dunn is pleased unbeaten two-year-old pacer Tour Party is not in the juvenile race, giving Travel Agent, who finished second to him last start a good shot at victory.

“He really is something that Tour Party,” says Dunn.

“But this horse chased him hard on debut and he would be slightly the better of our two chances in that race because he has the race day experience over our other one Metro Boy, who we also rate.”

Dunn thinks punters should forgive Sacetas (R1, No.1) who had no luck last start and gets barrier 1 tonight for junior driver Thomas Borcoskie.

Tonight’s other feature is the $50,000 Magness Benrow Sires’ Stakes Semi Final (8.07pm) with Cath have the tactical advantage of barrier 1 in the small but select field.

She was excellent winning fresh-up last start and driver Seth Hill has the option of staying in front or handing that role to key rivals like Miki’s Deal, Secret Wish or Indulge Me and using the passing lane.

The race should have a significant impact on the markets for the three-year-old fillies races at Alexandra Park.

Cath has been well found by early punters being backed in from $2.90 to $2.40 but the TAB are still giving $3 for her under the Box Seat Boost.
