Trainers' tips on big day at Cambridge
To mark Cambridge's big day today we have canvassed the thoughts of the trainers for all the runners in the two features. If trainers were not available we have used Trotech comments.
Cambridge:
Race 6 (Waikato Breeders Stakes G3)
1) The Last Gamble (ft) - has worked well at home, she'll be running with some tough ones this week. We hope she could be in the combos. (D Moore)
2) Sunny Petite (ft) - Scratched
3) Lisa Marie P (ft) - Scratched
4) Emma Frost (ft) - has been working well since her victory on New Year’s Eve. Front mark should see her step and be handy all the way so is at least a first 4 player. (Wallis & Hackett)
5) Manchester’s Eclipse (ft) - Scratched
6) Rosie (ft) - she's been working well but is still learning her trade and manners will be the key. Few smart ones in there but I think she deserves her place in the field to have a crack at some black type. (J Stevens)
7) Leesa Castleton (10m) - Hasn't threatened in last couple of assignments. Her odds will be enticing. (Trottech)
8) Expensive Crumpet (10m) - Very happy with Experience Crumpet. Nice run last start she go a good race. (R Paynter)
9) Our Gracie (10m) - Her form credentials so far this campaign aren't strong. Odds will reflect that. (Trottech)
10) Monkey Selfie (20m) - she is fit and ready to rumble, it is a very good field but she is a live winning chance if she behaves herself. (N Chilcott)
11) Peakz Luck (20m) - Disappointed when well supported on Christmas Eve. Tenacious win 17 Dec. Danger. (Trottech)
12) Lady Be Good (20m) - Trailed up nice Saturday winning her heat, worked well since should be a good top 3 chance if she gets a good run through. (K Marshall)
13) Silver Power (20m) - is working well with a recent trial win. Dave and Clare McGowan have been helping us and we expect her to go close. (Edwards & Edwards)
14) Kimkar Dash (20m) - has trained on nicely since her last start win, we are expecting a bold run from her. (D Balle)
15) Rain Mist And Muscle (30m) - is in career best form, trialled well 2 weeks ago, has been working great and with Todd in the sulky should be given every chance. (Wallis & Hackett)
16) Molly Bones (30m) - just had the one workout this time in, only going to be better for the run. But happy with her. (R Paynter)
17) She Reigns (40m) - has trained on great since her win last week, hard task off 40m in a full field but she deserves to be the horse to beat. (G Rogerson)
Race 7 (Gold Cup Final)
1) Ideal Agent (ft) - Work has been good and standing start manners are very sharp!! (Neal & Neal)
2) Jack Tar (ft) - he has finally found his form again and is racing great. Off the front tape with a clean beginning he is a good each way chance in what is a very even field. (N Chilcott)
3) Brookies Jaffa (ft) - Broke at the start in his first stand last week but staged a big recovery. Can certainly figure in the finish. (Teaz & Teaz)
4) Bugalugs (ft) - Didn't receive much luck last time. Spirited success 21Jan. Rough prospect. (Trottech)
5) Hot And Treacherous (ft) - He’s come (through) the run well and he seems well. (Hughes & Hughes)
6) High Point (ft) - the key to her chances are her good stand start manners. If she can be quick away again and sit on the fence she'll be in the fight. (G Rogerson)
7) Rough And Ready (ft) - is racing very kindly. Todd Mitchell has really clicked with him and the same combination join forces on Saturday. He'll give a very honest account of himself. (A Donnelly)
8) Young Conqueror (ft) - I can see him making a quick get away and landing somewhere near it. You'll get a good run for your money with this bloke. (A Donnelly)
9) Ohoka Achillies (10m) - has worked well this week and I am very happy with him he shouldn’t be far away on Saturday (O Gillies)
10) American Me (20m) - American Me has trained on well since his last race and with no bad luck in the running I would be disappointed if he didn't figure in the finish. (D Gale)
11) New York Minute (20m) - One thing is for sure he won't let you down. He won with plenty of arrogance last start and is racing very similar if not the same horses again. He's a very strong contender. (A Donnelly)
12) Callie's Delight (30m) – looking for a better run after an unusual disappointing run last week. She seems very well and we are confident we have her back to where she was. (J Dickie)
