Trainers' tips for Winton

We've asked the trainers for their thoughts on two of the feature races at Winton today (Sunday). If they were not available we have gone with the thoughts of Trottech.

Winton:

Race 7 (Trot)

1) Horse Of Course - Honest & reliable. Rates a decent First4 prospect from his ace draw. (Trottech)

2) Tolkien – Mobile will suit him. Won well on speed two back. Will need a bit of luck. (K Larsen)

3) Sage Trouble - Hasn't fired up like she can recently. Others rate in front of her. (Trottech)

4) Steve - Looks well, working well, aggressive driver, good draw, must be a chance. (B Norman)

5) Missie Castleton - Capable enough but hard to recommend strongly on her last two. Rough hope. (Trottech)

6) In Sequence - Her work has been nice we have changed a few things with her, and she's trotting a lot better, she should be a show as long as she brings her manners. (A Hoffman)

7) Harry H – Working well, really pleased with him after a slight change of training. Not sure over a mile top four. (S Matheson)

8) Smokin Bandar - Working great at home. Just needs to do things right and he'll be right in it. (C Ferguson)

9) Spotlight The Valley - Spotlight is not particularly suited to mobiles or miles but all there is for her in saying that she is very well after a few niggles at Xmas time. (R Wilson)

10) Afterburner - Working great went super last start should go close. (B Gray)

11) Gershwin - Has so many red flags it’s a wonder I haven’t started dating him. Lol. Working great but has a mental block that stops him bringing it to the races. Is trending in the right direction though. (Douglas & Willis)

12) Whatwillbeewillbee - Has been reshod since last run, worked poor in new shoes Monday, worked excellent Wednesday. In form Jamie Campbell has driven him previously. Not really a miler. (B Norman)

Race 8 (Pace)

1) Mach’s Back - All actually working well. Machs back great draw should get handy. (Barclay & Ellis)

2) Mucho Macho Man - 1st run back for nearly a month at Invercargill last week and copped a check on the home corner. Worked very nicely on Tuesday & I would hope for an improved effort on Sunday. (C Gerken)

3) New York Man - Bit of a step up this week. Went super last week and has come through the run well. I think he'll go another good race. (C Ferguson)

4) Tres Chic - has come through her Forbury win well. She faces a step up in company, but with 100% manners I'd expect a forward showing. (Anderson & Love)

5) A Taste Of Honey - All actually working well very happy with A Taste Of Honey. (Barclay & Ellis)

6) Pay Me Speedy - Working well, nice mare & ability will take her close but will benefit from the run and is a tidy enough wee field. (C Faithful)

7) Melton Mafia – working well nice mare & ability will take her close but will benefit from the run and is a tidy enough wee field. (C Faithful)

8) Love On The Rocks - All actually working well very happy with Love On Rocks . (Barclay & Ellis)

9) Macandrew Aviator - All actually working very well. (Barclay & Ellis)

10) Mighty Flying Art - has trained well this week and with a Jr Claim driver comes into this race well. (M Brown)
