Trainers' tips for Rangiora

Ahead of the Amberley Trotting Club's meeting at Rangiora today we have asked the trainers of all horses in the two feature races for their thoughts. Where trainers were not available we have used Trottech comments.

Race 8 (Amberley Cup)

1) Georgie Zukov (ft) - Rapt with him until sore foot in the tub, will have fitness test. (B Waldron)

2) Mogul (ft) - Earnest efforts in Cup grades over the summer. Include in First4s again. (Trottech)

3) Terror Maria (ft) – Honest mare, seems well, up in grade. She’ll need luck. (B Butt)

4) Yossi (ft) - his work has been good and I expect him to go a good race (J Hay)

5) Homebush Lad (ft) – wouldn’t be the worst chance needed the run last time and 2nd in this race last year. Hopefully he’ll be thereabouts. (Hope & Hope)

6) Gilligans Island (10m) - Grabbed in strong Addington field but has been in his element on grass. EW. (Trottech)

7) Quarterback (10m) - Alana and him have really clicked his work has been great since mot is another step up but can’t see why he couldn’t go close again. (M Purvis)

8) Back In Black (10m) - has been working well since Motukarara and will be a lot fitter for the run. (S Boyd)

9) Dadndave (20m) - has had a freshen up after last start. He is working well and should perform well in the feature race. (T Trathen)

10) Kruizr (20m) - 10m no worry at Waterlea & in imperious form at Richmond. Can nail hat trick. (Trottech)

Race 9 (Trot)

1) Prince Teka (ft) - Should put his mistake at Methven behind him. First4s option from the ace. (Trottech)

2) Bright Glow (ft) - Caught out on a limb at Methven so understandably tired. Will be at a price. (Trottech)

3) Phoebe Onyx (ft) - Not racing as well as he can but Tim believes he is not really getting the rub of the green so with more luck he should go a good race (J Howe)

4) Navara (ft) - Back in rhythm with 2nd at Wednesday's trials. Yet to fire here. Long odds. (Trottech)

5) Time In A Bottle (ft) – Scratched

6) Chief Of Staff (ft) - He had a wee freshen up after Nelson his work has been great since a each way chance being off the front. (Thomas & Thomas)

7) Easy Pickings (ft) – Scratched

8) Tequila Sunset (ft) - has trained well since his win last Friday night. Rating 60 is the highest he has been in his career and this race will be his toughest test to date. I'd expect him to need a soft run on the markers to have a chance of finishing in the first 6. (K Cameron)

9) My Moments Now (ft) - has been trialling up nice for her first assignment but first start on grass but usually a great beginner so will give them something to catch. (M Purvis)

10) Globe Trecker (ft) - Scratched

11) Ideal Invasion (ft) - Grinding efforts on the Coast. Freshened since. Happy to take notes today. (Trotech)

12) Rebel Kibbybones (ft) - Hopefully he can settle a bit closer than his last 2 starts been off the front will help works been good this week happy enough with him. (J Hay)

13) Midnight Assassin (10m) - We are real pleased with his current form, and he has worked good since his Methven win. He will just need some luck off 10 metres to figure in the finish. (DeFilippi & DeFilippi)

14) Zsa Zoe (10m) - We have changed her training routine and she's enjoying her work, fingers crossed. (K Ford)

15) Sunny Glenis (25m) - Scratched

16) Mataderos (25m) – couldn’t handle being back on the grit last time, back on grass where he has a great record, good chance. (R Dunn)
