THE ASCENT and THE VELOCITY both "sold out"

The "Sold Out" signs are out for the first ever slot races to be held as part of the Show Day Twilight races at Addington Raceway on November 15.
Today Addington Raceway and Harness Racing New Zealand are delighted to announce that all 10 slots have been purchased for both THE ASCENT and THE VELOCITY, the two new $500,000 races for the three-year-old trotters and pacers.
The slots, costing $30,000 each, were offered on August 19, and had been all snapped up by the time applications closed at the end of the month.
"These lots have been sold in record time," says Harness Racing New Zealand Chief Executive Brad Steele, "we thought that the concept was a good one and that people would embrace it."
Addington Raceway's Racing and Property Manager John Denton was also delighted with the response.
"Slots like these ones are usually sold over one or two months. So, to get the uptake we did within a two-week period, is outstanding."
The identities of the various slot-holders will be announced as part of Trackside's Friday Night Lights coverage this Friday.
