Telfers go to top of Trainers' Premiership

With another five wins last night Team Telfer has soared to the top of the Trainers' premiership for 2025.

It's been an amazing turnaround for the brother-sister combo of Steve and Amanda Telfer and Stonewall Stud who were as many as 32 wins behind previous runaway leader Michael House as recently as April.

Such has been their hot streak of late that the Telfers have now won eight in June already, after producing 27 winners in May.

Last night Always B Magic toughed it out for driver Josh Dickie to win at Alexandra Park while the in-form Tim Williams piloted all four of the team's winners at Addington with Slots (R1), Christies Art (R3), Cheer The Captain (R6) and Akatea (R7).

House added to his season's tally in the last at Addington when Terrormylove upset at big odds for driver Sam Ottley.

That means the Telfers now have 72 wins in 2025, two ahead of House (70).

With the stable set to be big on numbers and quality over the winter months the Telfers are now at $1.08 to win the premiership this year.

The last trainers' premiership they won was in 2022, with 98 wins.

Tomorrow the rivalry continues at Addington with House taking seven horses to the races. They are Alice In Dreamland (R1), Santanna Mach and Didjashoutthebar(R2), Mode (R4), La Bamba (R5), Vincent Reactress (R7) and Enya Franco (R10).

The Telfers have just two engaged with $1.75 favourite Bettor Off in Race 7 and Mandala in race 8.
