Team Tomlinson to the fore for Team Teal
What a week or so it's been for Team Tomlinson as part of Team Teal.
The annual fund-raiser for ovarian cancer research started on February 1 and goes through to mid March with money raised every time a female driver (and her teal pants) wins a race.
Money is raised through Harness Racing New Zealand ($100 per win), the clubs ($100) and individual sponsors as well as donations and other sources.
There were 10 wins by Teal Pants drivers over the weekend including Kerryn Tomlinson taking out the ladies' only race at Rangiora yesterday with Blue Rock Dancer.
That gives her six wins so far this campaign to be the most successful, along with Sarah O'Reilly.
Sister Sheree Tomlinson (pictured above) is on five wins, and their mother Amanda Tomlinson (pictured below) had her first ever win for Team Teal last week when Gazza Beatt won at Methven on Sunday, February 12.
So far the Team Teal total stands at $14,000, and it's just the halfway point. There are still three weeks to go.
The first ever Team Teal quiz night will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at Addington.
Teams of between four and six will be tested on their racing and general knowledge with prizes for the top three teams, as well as games and raffles through the night
