Teal is the fashion at Motukarara this summer

Harness Racing NZ’s annual Team Teal campaign is back in 2022, raising funds for and awareness around Ovarian Cancer.

The campaign will run from 1st February to 15th March, and while there’ll be no racing at Motukarara in that period, that doesn’t mean the club will miss out on some Team Teal fun activities.

To help promote Team Teal, now in its fifth year, we’re putting on a show at our next meeting Sunday 23rd January. It’s Touch of Teal Fashion in the Field time, and this year the event will be bigger and better than ever.

There’ll be plenty of prizes up for grabs when contestants strut their stuff before the big crowd expected to attend our popular January race day.

Come along and dress for the occasion and take your place in your chosen category: Best Dressed Lady – Classic, Best Dressed Lady - Local Lady, Best Dressed Man, Junior Boys or Junior Girls. Enter on the day or better still get in early and take advantage of the free course entry that’s included with pre-registration.

Janelle Burnside will be our Touch of Teal Fashion in the Field MC for the day, and joining Janelle in judging the event is Angela Millar. Include a touch of teal in your outfit, and the judges are sure to be impressed! We're excited to have Stephanie Murray Mortgages on board as lead sponsor of the event.

Touch of Teal Fashion in the Field at Motukarara will highlight the upcoming Team Teal campaign that includes a great bunch of harness racing identities as official ambassadors, some of whom will be on course for this promotional event.

The grandstands will be decked out in teal bunting to add to the carnival atmosphere of the day. So get involved, Fashion in the Field’s always a load of fun and the event will help ensure everyone’s aware that Team Teal is back for another year.

To pre-register for Touch of Teal Fashion in the Field, simply email [email protected] with your name, phone number and a short description of your outfit. Registration on the day at the Secretary’s Office need to be received by 1.30 PM.
