Star triallist delivers on debut at Winton
He was all the rage with the punters and debutante Raupunga Lad has delivered in style at Winton this afternoon.
On the back of impressive trials, and a big reputation, the Brent McIntyre-trained three-year-old waltzed away from his rivals in the Winton Night'N Day Colts and Geldings Mobile Pace by around ten lengths.
Driver Craig Ferguson barely moved on the son of Raging Bull as he cut out the 2400 metres in 2:57.87.
Such was his favouritism that Raupunga Lad paid just $1.40, with commentator Justin Evans calling it a "dazzling debut"
"That was 'wow', he cruised it."
