Spring edition of Breeding Matters out now
The New Zealand Standardbred Breeders’ Association has released the Spring 2026 edition of Breeding Matters, a 108 page issue available to read online now.
The cover story goes inside Woodlands Stud, where Kelly Blakemore and Anne Marie Luxton talk about 30 breeding seasons between them at the Clevedon farm, and the issue also visits Breckon Farms, Nevele R, Wai Eyre, Macca Lodge and Alabar, with the regular Trending Sires and Crosses of Gold analysis, a feature on the ownership pathway, foal care advice from Cornell University and Mad Barn, profiles of OnTrack’s Victoria McArthur and new breeder Caleb Pomare-Edwards, and an introduction to new Standardbred Showing Coordinator Katie Steffert.
The edition is the first to be written, designed and produced entirely in house by the Association, and was made possible by the studs, services and sponsors who advertise in it.
