Royal Aspirations is on roll

Canterbury-based Phoebe Standardbreds has released a number of options for their boom sire Royal Aspirations as they look ahead to the next breeding season, including a "novel" pay by June 30 option of just $1500 plus GST (last year's fee).

An 18-race winner on the track, from 2012-16, and still New Zealand's fastest ever 2YO trotter (1:56.5MR), the now 12-year-old Royal Aspirations is proving quite the success at stud, with the likes of Royal Deidre, TK Megastar, Royal Del and Sunny Louis all recent race winners.

"We had five wins in ten days - not bad for a sire that only has 14 three-year-old and older progeny on the ground," says Phoebe Standardbreds principal Grant Beckett.

The latest win came with Sunny Louis at Addington on Thursday night.

"His seven winners to date have come from seven different broodmare sires, and from colts and fillies," says Beckett, "so there's a lot of variety there."

Now Phoebe Standardbreds has confirmed its pricing structure for 2022.

Royal Aspiration's fee will be $2500 plus GST but there are incentives for those paying early.

Anyone paying before September 30 2022 will get an “Early Bird” fee of $2000 plus GST.

To reward breeders who have sent a mare to Royal Aspirations before we will offer a $500 credit off either of the above two options, and there is a $1500 plus GST pay by June 30 option.

"We have certainly had lots of enquiries after the recent success."
