Riverton Cup Day at Ascot Park
The Riverton Trotting Club come to town this Saturday as they hold the 32nd running of the $15,000 DT King’s Transport Ltd Riverton Cup at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill.
The Cup, won last year by star pacer U May Cullect, features a stake of $20,000 and will be run over a distance of 2700m. Other features include Heat Three of the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes for a stake of $15,000, the $12,000 Neville Cleaver Fishing Aparima Trot and the $10,000 WR Keast Memorial Trot.
All winning owners will receive a Plaza Supervalue $80 hamper/gift basket.
The race meeting will take place in accordance within the rules and guidelines set out in the Covid-19 Protection Framework (Red Traffic Light setting).
Industry participants and essential workers with a reason to attend the event plus owners, ticketed guests, sponsors and members who can be housed in separate bubbles of under 100 people can attend while public attending the event must stay in areas on course which will be advertised on the day. Social distancing and mask wearing while moving around the course is a must.
Anyone that can attend must do so by producing their vaccine passport at the gate which will be manned all day long.
