Regan Todd with key runners on both sides of the Tasman

Currently in Sydney with his star pacer Marketplace ahead of his Australian debut tomorrow night, trainer Regan Todd will also line up four runners at Addington tonight, including classy customers Franco Lomu and Mo'unga.

Franco Lomu is currently a $2.40 favourite for Race 4, the Any Excuse For A Bubbles Mobile Pace (6.26pm).

He's drawn one over the 1980 metres for driver Craig Ferguson after having no luck at Addington last Friday night.

On that occasion he was making his move around the field only to lock wheels and lose all chance.

Before that he'd had an eye-catching trial win at Rangiora.

"He'd be my best of the four tonight," says Todd ,"especially from that draw."

The Bettor's Delight three-year-old has won one from seven so far with last start winner Crunched also well supported at $2.70 for Hayden and Amanda Cullen.

First starter List N Sell, a Downbytheseaside 2YO Colt, lines up in Race 6, the Commodore Hotel Mobile Pace (7.29pm).

He's currently at $5.50.

"His trials have been encouraging but it is a tough ask for a two-year-old  against the older horses," says Todd, "and it is a starting point for him."

He was a $40,000 purchase at last year's National Yearling Sales.

Mo'unga will fly the stable flag in the night's feature pace, the Touchdown Car Rentals Handicap Pace (8.29pm).

The seven-year-old is fourth up this campaign and rattled home to finish fifth last start behind Franco Sinatra in his record-breaking win at Ashburton.

"That was a good effort, he had a quick last half and last quarter but in saying that being off 40 (metres) won't be easy."

"I'd say he's more a top three than a winning chance."

Mo'unga is currently at $4.60, with Da Vinci, who's off 25 metres, the favourite at $2.60.

The last of Todd's runners on the night is I'm Rockin in Race 9, the Gold Band Taxis Mobile Pace (8.55pm).

Currently at $11, he faces a tough field headlined by the in-form Mostert.

"He's fresh up and will definitely benefit from the run."

As for Marketplace he warmed up for Saturday's Wsi Airport Transfers Free For All (8.25pm) with a very smart trial win last week at Menangle. He was timed to run his own closing splits in 53.2 and 25.8sec at the end of a 1min50.1sec mile.

On the back of that he's now at $1.45 despite drawing the outside of the front line.

"He's right beside me, he's just smashed his breakfast," says Todd.

It's Todd's first time campaigning a horse across the Tasman in eight years.

"The last one was Show Gait," he says.

She went two from two in 2018 and Todd is eyeing up more of the same with Marketplace.

"We are rapt with the way he is looking. His trial was good and it's another step before the big dance on July 4."

That's when he'll take the likes of Captains Mistress and co in the $350,000 The Rising Sun at Albion Park in Brisbane.
