Rasmussen and Green buoyant after New Zealand Cup trial

By Dave Di Somma - Harness News Desk

Copy That’s trainer Ray Green says next Tuesday’s New Zealand Cup is shaping up as a four or five horse race.

Speaking after last night’s Cup trial at Addington where Copy That was not pushed in finishing seventh of seven Green says  he is pleased with how the four-year-old is going ahead of the country’s biggest race.

The 2600m trial was won by Spankem in 3.12.3 for driver and co-trainer Natalie Rasmussen, ahead of All Stars stablemate Self Assured, who sat parked after a tardy beginning. She’s confident about Spankem a year on from his second placing in last year’s Cup to Cruz Bromac.
