Racing Rewards are all go this Saturday

Addington is gearing up for one of its best days of racing this year.

This Saturday's Racing Rewards meeting features 11 races with the TAB confirming there will be guaranteed $10,000 First 4s on all races, and a terminating Pick 6 on the last six races.

Five Racing Rewards Showcase races - three pacing and two trotting - will be held. Each is worth $27,000.

Formerly known as the RATTO Showcase, the series has been very popular. To qualify horses must have been R35-60 and 4YO and older from January 1 2023 and had at least three starts from then to April 2.

Ruby's A Delight (pacers) and Buffy Northstains (trotters) are the top qualifiers.

"I would say it's one of Addington's best and most even fields since Cup week," says HRNZ's National handicapper Andrew Morris, "we had 151 acceptors across 11 races."

For example there are fields of 11,16,14 and 14 for the final quaddie.

"That quaddie is not easy and on a big punting day like Saturday we are hopeful the pools will reflect that," says Morris.

The first leg of the quaddie at 5.19pm is the Group 2 Coca Cola Superstars Championship. It features a wide open field including last start winners  Mossdale Ben and One Change as well as top performers like The Falcon, Beach Ball, Got You Covered, Corravally Star, Heisenberg and Mighty Looee.
