Progress on Forbury Park

A constructive meeting has been held between the key parties involved in the future of Forbury Park in Dunedin.

Harness Racing New Zealand management and the Forbury Park Trotting Club Board met on Thursday to discuss options for the 12 hectare St Kilda site, which held its last meeting in July.

Since then more than 300 submissions have been made on the future of the site from a variety of individuals and groups.

Those submissions were part of yesterday's discussions - the two parties agreeing the meeting was constructive and helpful, and an important step forward.

It’s planned there’ll be on-going discussions in ensuing weeks with a view to putting the site up for sale potentially early in the New Year.
