Owners attending race meetings under alert level restrictions

A reminder for owners under Alert Levels 2 & 3 restrictions...

Under Level 2 owners, including all syndicate members are allowed to attend race meetings ONLY if they have a horse racing at that meeting.

Under Level 3 owners are NOT allowed to attend.

Under Levels 2 & 3 public are NOT allowed to attend.

If we reach Level 4, the current situation is lockdown, however HRNZ is doing everything they can with Government officials, to continue to train, and run workouts, trials and race meetings under Level 4. We await further confirmation of any change to the current lockdown situation.

It is possible that a change to the current levels could occur later today (Friday) and that could impact race meetings over the weekend. It is advisable to remember that under Level 3 owners can NOT attend.

If you as an owner are to attend a race meeting from now on you will be checked into the course by club staff. You should have already downloaded the Government contact tracing app (if you have a phone capable). This will be available for you to scan yourself in as you enter the course.

In addition to this information if you have recently been in the Auckland Super City area or in the Rotorua or Taupo area's, you should consider NOT attending a race meeting this weekend.

If you are feeling unwell, have a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, or experiencing a change in your sense of smell you should NOT attend.

If you have recently returned from overseas (last 14 days) or been in contact with a confirmed or probable Covid-19 case, you should NOT attend.

With regards to face masks, this is not currently a requirement, however it is worthwhile readying yourself for this if indeed it did become so.

There is one mission here. To keep racing. HRNZ will carryout and comply with whatever it takes to maintain racing.

Keep safe and look after each other.
