Notable withdrawals from Harness Jewels

In this week’s update of the Harness Jewels leaderboard, there have been five notable withdrawals - in the 4YO Diamond, the 3YO and 4YO Emerald, and the 3YO and 4YO Ruby.

The top 12 horses in each of the nine categories will make the final fields for the Jewels at Cambridge on June 6, with each Group One worth $100,000.

In the 4YO Diamond the previously fifth-ranked Longview Lady has been withdrawn as she’s in foal with Le Pole Dancer going into the top 12, she’s at 11 after winning at Addington on Friday night.

Eighth on the 3YO Emerald leaderboard, Corravally Star has also been withdrawn, with Pace N Pride going from 7th to 5th, after winning at Rangiora yesterday. It was the colt’s fifth win in 16 starts.

In the 4yo Ruby I Dream Of Jeannie is out, as is Bitamuscle from the 3YO Ruby after suffering a stress fracture of the cannon bone. The big mover is I See Fire who goes from 41st to 12th on the back of a victory for trainer-driver Tony Herlihy at Auckland on Friday night.

The last withdrawal is Ifyousayso in the 4YO Emerald. Trained by Gerard O’Reilly the Terror To Love gelding was ranked 14th. In the same category Pull The Other Leg has gone from 18 to 12 after winning at Cambridge last Thursday, and Steel The Show goes from 12 to 13.

The twelve is unchanged in the 2YO Diamond though Suntan moves from 11 to 4 after his win at Alexandra Park on Friday night, while Major Perry improved eight places to sixth in the 2YO Emerald, after his first win (at Cambridge on Thursday night). Beaten into third place was Emerald leader Montana DJ.

After winning at Addington on Friday night Mystic Max goes from 22 to 3rd on the 2YO Ruby leaderboard. He downed the previously unbeaten Highgrove, who broke at the start and rallied into fourth. Rakero Blaze finished second in that race and is now ranked 11th with High On Love, Kowhai Sunset and Awhel all dropping out of the top 12.
