Northern juveniles withdrawn from Harness Grand Prix

Two highly-fancied northern stablemates are out of next month's first ever Harness Grand Prix at Addington.

Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan have withdrawn both Merlin from the Ace of Diamonds for the 2YO Pacing Colts and Geldings and also Advance Party from the Ace of Diamonds for the 2YO Pacing Fillies.

Advance Party's withdrawal follows her disappointing 12th in the Dunstan Horsefeeds Sires' Stakes Fillies Final on Show Day at Addington, won by the unbeaten Millwood Nike, while Merlin ran a huge fourth behind Don't Stop Dreaming in the Woodlands Stud Sires' Stakes Series Final on Cup Day.

Also out is One Over Da Line from the Ace of Clubs for the 2YO Trot for the Colts and Geldings. The Majestic Son gelding, who's won two from five starts, finished fifth in his last start behind the unbeaten Gold Bullion.

The Grand Prix will be one of racing's biggest days of the year with eight Group 1s at Addington on Sunday, December 4.

Nominations for all ten races close next week.
