Nominations confirmed for the IRT NZ Trotting Cup and the Renwick Farms Dominion Trot
A total of 84 nominations have been made for the IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup (43) and the Renwick Farms Dominion Trot (41) at Addington Raceway on Tuesday, November 12.
Included in the nominations are a large number of Australians, including champion pacer Leap To Fame, Auckland Cup winner Better Eclipse and the Jason Grimson-trained trio of Major Moth, District Attorney and Nerano in the $1m IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup, and superstar trotter Just Believe in the $400,000 Dominion Trot.
Numerically, the country's leading trainers Robert and Jenna Dunn (Diamond Racing) have the largest presence with six Cup nominations (Charlie Brown, Dalton Shard, Double Time, Heisenberg, Triple G and Who's Delight)and four in the Dominion (Aardiebythehill, Highgrove, Mighty Logan and Sunnys Sister).
Paul Nairn (Confessional, El Conqueror, Masterly, Tectonic and Tu Tangata) has five nominations for the Dominion, with Greg and Nina Hope four (Eurokash, Midnight Dash, Mr Love and Muscle Mountain).
The 43 nominations for the IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup is three less than last year while the 41 nominations for The Dominion is nine more than last year.
