No luck for Dunn in Little Brown Jug :

Dexter Dunn has finished fifth in today’s 75th running of the Little Brown Jug. The 10-time New Zealand champion drove Seeyou At Thebeach in what they call “America’s Great Harness Race”.

Seeyou At Thebeach had a brief bobble behind the mobile gate and settled off the pace as Captain Barbossa took out the prestigious race in 1:49.1 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in central Ohio. It was the horse’s first win in 13 races this season. The margin of victory was 1-1/2 lengths.


Destreos retired after 101 win career :

An Australasian legend, known as Dexter, has officially retired. Destreos has ended his career as a 16-year-old having started 486 times for 101 wins and 140 minor placings.

The gelding’s most prestigious win was the Group Three Be Good Johnny Stakes in 2012.

Destreos was educated in New Zealand by Steve Phillips before going to trainer Geoff Small. He started his race career at Alexandra Park in January 2006 finishing second to Gotta Go Cullen. He won seven races from 50 starts before going to Aussie in 2008 as a four year old.

 

New stable for Kings Landing :

Five-win trotter Kings Landing is on the move. The six-year-old son of Muscle Hill has been transferred north from the All Stars stables to Michelle Wallis and Bernie Hackett. A winner of five from 18 starts Kings Landing last raced in New Zealand in February this year before having five starts, including a second, in Australia.

The Geraldine Trotting Club will be back racing at Orari Racecourse on the 28th November and are now taking bookings for catered marquees and the fence-line car park sites. General car park sites are free.
