Mare ready to Rockn Roll at Manawatu

Highview Rockn Roll will by vying for a hat-trick of wins at Manawatu Raceway when she heads to the Palmerston North track on Tuesday.
The eight-year-old mare has won her last two races at the track since joining trainer Farley Cossey’s Stratford barn and he is hoping for a repeat performance this week.
Since her Manawatu triumphs, Highview Rockn Roll ran sixth at Cambridge Raceway last week, pleasing Cossey ahead of her Central Districts return.
“I thought her run at Cambridge last start was quite good. She came home wide on the bend and she was finishing really strong,” Cossey said.
“I have been jogging her since then and she is good as gold, I am really happy with her.”
The daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven will start from behind the 30m tape in the Hickey Family Handicap Trot (2500m), which bodes no concerns for Cossey.
“She was off 50m last time so the handicap doesn’t seem to worry her down there,” he said.
“She should go alright.”
Cossey will also line-up Constance Claire in the Win A Table Thursday On The Breeze Mobile Pace (2000m).
The daughter of Art Major was also sixth at Cambridge Raceway last week and Cossey is expecting a bold showing at Palmerston North.
“Constance Claire went a good race up at Cambridge as well,” he said.
“She got held up a bit at the turn and got on the bit from about the 600m.
“I thought she went a really good race, she was running on at the finish too.
“I quite like the mare and I think she is going to get better with age.”
