Latest IRT NZ Cup & Dominion Trot Rankings - 12 October

After his win in the Methven Cup, Cranbourne has been the biggest mover in this week’s IRT New Zealand Cup rankings.

The Brent White-trained pacer was 23rd last week. He jumps up ten places to 13th and as it stands at the moment he would make the cut for the big race at Addington on Tuesday, November 9.

Cranbourne’s win on the grass at Orari on Sunday was his ninth in 22 starts.

Steel The Show, who was second to Cranbourne, moves up four places to 14th in the New Zealand Cup rankings, while third favourite Copy That remains at seventh despite winning the Spring Cup at Alexandra Park on Friday night, and Triple Eight goes from 8th to sixth after finishing second in the Victoria Cup at Bendigo.

Amazing Dream , who finished fourth in the Victoria Cup, has been withdrawn, as have Memphis Tennessee, Stylish Memphis, Burnham Boy and Plutonium Lady.

Defending champion Self Assured is at the top of the rankings, from Classie Brigade and Di Caprio with South Coast Arden, a clear second pick with the TAB, at number four.

There have been no major changes in the Dominion Trot rankings, though Australian visitor Maori Law has been withdrawn.

Many of the country’s top trotters including Sundees Son, Majestic Man, Muscle Mountain and Bolt For Brilliance, will clash this Friday at Addington in the Group Three Stevie Golding – Harcourts Canterbury Park Cup.
