Lasa joins winners in Canterbury Plains Challenge

Lasa has clinched a place in the $40,000 Canterbury Plains Challenge Final with his hard fought win in the seventh heat at Addington on Wednesday night.

Trained by Cran and Chrissie Dalgety, and driven by son Carter, Lasa looked to have the race in safe keeping though it was a close run thing in the end, with Hugo finishing on well into second, just a head from the winner.

A $2 favourite, Lasa was the seventh individual winner this series, joining  Heaven Forbid, Jukebox Gypsy, Sweet Dreams, Stubing, Always Bee Gee and Belmont Valor.

All heat winners qualify for the $40,000 Final at Addington on May 15 as long as they have had at least two race starts within the qualification period (April 8 - May 10).

Lasa qualifies as he had previously had a third and fourth in other heats.

The series, for 5YO and Older Pacers (Rated 35), has three heats remaining.

They are at :

Rangiora (Sunday) May 3
