Krug impressive in Trainor's treble at Menangle
"Something special" is how Jack Trainor summed up his big night at Menangle on Saturday.
The ex-pat Kiwi drove two winners for his old boss Cran Dalgety with Krug and Just Remember Me, and also prevailed with Stylish Memphis, who he now trains at his Campbelltown base just out of Sydney.
"I'm just really happy to drive a couple of winners for Cran," says Trainor, "they are not the biggest races of my career but considering him and his family had such a big part of my early career it was something special to me."
Trainor worked for Dalgety at his Kentuckiana stables before heading to Australia.
Krug was impressive in clearing out to a one and a half length win for his first ever win at Menangle - "Krug is just a machine" - while Just Remember also looked good as she warms up for the New South Wales heats at Menangle on February 19.
Formerly with Mark Jones, Stylish Memphis faced the breeze but did still enough.
"She is a serious filly."
