Kingman heading to Cambridge after all
By Brittany Graham
“He’s coming” - That is the word from Luke McCarthy today (Wednesday) when asked if Kingman would be returning to New Zealand for The Race at Cambridge's Night of Champions on Friday, April 10.
Immediately after his below par performance in Saturday night's Miracle Mile, owner Mick Harvey suggested that the five-year-old stallion would be heading to the paddock to regroup after a series of testing runs.
But those plans were swiftly shelved after the defending New Zealand Trotting Cup champion seemingly recovered fully earlier this week.
And Luke McCarthy is looking forward to having another chance at the $1,000,000 feature after Don Hugo was fourth in last year’s edition.
“He is healthy and sound so we might as well have a crack”
“He will fly in on Tuesday (April 7) and out again on the Sunday – it will be a one run campaign”
