Kimberly Butt at hospital and "fine"
Driver Kimberly Butt is "sore" but otherwise ok after a fall at Ashburton this afternoon.
Butt was driving Verlander in Race 11, the McCormack Decorating Mobile Pace. He galloped roughly just past the line and both ended up on the track.
Her tumble looked serious though Butt later reported :
"I'm at the hospital getting checked out just to clear any back or neck injuries but I think it's just precautionary."
"I'm pretty sure I'm fine - just a bit sore."
Verlander was not injured.
Today's incident follows a crash at Alexandra Park on Friday night when Benjamin Butcher was involved in a skirmish and thrown to the track in a two-year-old race.
He broke his shoulder and was concussed and is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks.
