Just two meetings left in Seddon Trotters' series

There are now just two chances left for those wanting to take out the new Seddon Shields Trotters' series.

The final races in the series - at Westport on March 8 and Reefton on March 10 - will decide who walks away with the first prize of $10,000 as well as the $3000 and $2000 for second and third.

The series for the mid grade trotters is in its first year and so far there have been seven races throughout the top half of the South Island, starting at Westport on Boxing Day.

Points for each race are allocated as follows:

1st – 7 points
2nd – 5 points
3rd – 4 points
4th – 3 points
5th – 2 points
One point for every other starter.

Boyz Invasion, who has started in all seven races so far, leads the series on 26 points, with Muscle Bank second on 22 following a winning double at Blenheim on January 19 and 21.

Tied for third are Sunnys Sister, Anna's Boy and Idle Stuartia, all on 14 points.

At the final two meetings there will also be Team Teal Drivers' races at both venues and well as the pacing features, the Kawatiri Cup (Westport) and the Grey Valley Cup (Reefton).
