Jason Teaz's tips for Cambridge

Form analyst Jason Teaz provides a detailed race by race analysis of Cambridge tonight (Thursday March 4) - First race 5.10pm

Race 1

4 Safrakova
1 Ya Know
5 Ivegotbills
8 Doris Rae

The old mare SAFRAKOVA looks close to another win. Flew off the mobile and took a long time to be caught two weeks ago and this is her distance and it's a winnable race.
YA KNOW won well on debut and it is a big step up to racing in the next grade after winning on debut but was far from disgraced after working hard mid race. Shows good manners and is going further than most here.
IVEGOTBILLS galloped out in his last two runs since bolting in when winning a maiden. Senior driver and trainer is back on board tonight so that's a big key.
DORIS RAE just struggled slightly with the step up in grade but strikes one win company tonight. A definite chance if she behaves.

Race 2

4 Allamericanlover
5 Commander Cathy
6 Ideal Flipflops
2 Be My Rose

ALLAMERICANLOVER won her qualifying trial back in August, then did little else so was spelled. She won easily at the workouts at Pukekohe February 20 running home in 58.1 and 27.2. Has big gate speed so should lead end to end.
COMMANDER CATHY has been disappointing but comes to Cambridge company for the first time. Should be tough to beat.
IDEAL FLIPFLOPS opened her career with two nice placings here at Cambridge. Went to Auckland last Friday and struggled. She's a good chance.
BE MY ROSE qualified well in late January and then carried on to race here February 18 and did nothing. Had trialled better than that, and can get a decent trip.
LILLIBURLERO and BET YOUR BOOTS placed third and fourth respectively in a workout February 20 behind Outlaw Man and Optical Illusion. Both could place with luck.

Race 3

7 Aflyin Spur
13 Wynberg Watch
11 Cepheus
1 Trifolium

AFLYIN SPUR is very green and he hasn't seen a field the size of this before, but he seems to have a big engine. If he trots all the way he wins but no certainty to do that.
WYNBERG WATCH is up there on ability but faces a big ask from the unruly in a big field. A top three hope.
CEPHEUS ran second here in a race against race winners. Then had to back up the next night at Auckland so forget that run as it was only fair. Must be a huge chance of winning this.
TRIFOLIUM has had big tote support in all three starts and to be fair has done very little. Lacks a yard of speed but seems to do everything right.
SHAKEMJENNY placed third at Auckland November 27 behind two smart types then freshened. Beat a 2yo trotter at the workouts last Saturday so not a big insight to her chances but she will win a maiden at short notice.
ULTIMATE MOMENT ran third behind Berrylicious Babe and Cepheus February 18. His stand start manners are questionable and one on the second line won't help that.

Race 4

5 Somedreamsomewhere
3 Dynamite Dez
8 Montana Jet
10 Hes A Facta

SOMEDREAMSOMEWHERE was ultra impressive winning at the workouts in Pukekohe February 20. Won by seven lengths beating some nice maidens and Down The Hatch. Yes it was messy but it was the way she did it. Top pick.
DYNAMITE DEZ sat back but was running on stylishly February 20. Sectionals recorded were the best outside of the winner and has a better draw to use tonight. Was good to see him bring his workout form to the races.
MONTANA JET looked the goods at the trials but he was just fair here on debut two weeks ago. Barrier eight won't help but he's a hope of a top four spot.
HES A FACTA has a lot of ability. Just didn't back up on day two at Manawatu in December. Won a workout easily on Saturday in a fair time but home in 57 and 27. A good draw and he would've been higher rated.
TINTORETTO ran second to Hes A Facta last Saturday but beaten three lengths. Has the draw over him though.

Race 5

2 Suidelike Major
6 Golden Lace
7 Itsthefinalcountdown
1 Panspacificjet

SUIDELIKE MAJOR has turned it all around after taking 27 starts to win a maiden and has won his last two. Had a soft run and got away with the win. Easy to see similar things happening here tonight.
GOLDEN LACE got a penalty free win at Manawatu last week. This is a stronger lineup but had been competing well in stronger South Island races.
ITSTHEFINALCOUNTDOWN is hard to follow. He was a victim of the walk and sprint nature of that race on February 18. Racing well in this grade.
PANSPACIFICJET was horrific fresh two weeks back. Pulled up with an issue which if rectified can place in this from barrier one.
DUN IT BAD unbelievably drew nine in his last three starts. Has some gate speed to get involved early too. A long way down the ratings for a four win horse.

Race 6

9 Pull The Other Leg
6 Young Conqueror
5 Brookies Jaffa
1 Hezashadowplaya

PULL THE OTHER LEG has had a freshen up after he lost his way February 11 on the back of some hard racing. A really good horse who should get a decent run from the second line following out the likely leader.
YOUNG CONQUEROR got a few favours February 18 but stuck on well for second beaten a nose. Sure to press forward from his widish draw.
BROOKIES JAFFA was three and four wide off the back February 18 and wasn't beaten far. The best roughie in the field.
HEZASHADOWPLAYA has superior gate speed and should lead early but given he's been harshly hit on points he will be looking for cover tonight. A chance if on song to be in the top four.
THE BANKER just keeps winning and now finds himself high in the ratings also. They've gone for the junior driver concession tonight and given he can be a difficult horse to drive, it's a risk. Too good to leave out entirely.
SPIRIT OF ANZAC beat many of these February 11 and found the line with purpose when getting back in a tactical affair February 18.

Race 7

9 Delson
3 Grey Stoke
6 Griffins Hall
7 Fira

DELSON is thrown in here. He's basically only 30m behind and this is not a lineup that will scare him. Even though he's not at his best he still has to be the winner.
GREY STOKE has won eight races and even though he's hard to follow he found form two weeks ago. He's only 10m behind too. Each way.
GRIFFINS HALL nearly got home for the prize last time and he's also drawn close enough to the front to be dangerous.
FIRA capitalized on a dream run to hold them off February 18. Getting 20m for that win seems a little harsh but a smaller field helps.
AS FREE AS AIR won well here February 11 against many of these and forgive the miss last Friday that was in the Northern Breeders stakes at Alexandra park. Back home she's a player.
THE LAST GAMBLE is only 10m behind and just hard to work too hard last time. The key for her is stepping clean and trailling. Then she becomes dangerous.

Race 8

4 Bankers Gold
6 Sarandon
7 High Point
2 Fleeting Grin

You can't fault BANKERS GOLD. Has only won two from nineteen but has had some bad luck along the way. Third at Auckland two starts ago in a way stronger race than this and just stood the winner up too far in defeat two weeks ago.
SARANDON was disappointing in the Satchmo race. Looked the winner on paper and had every show. That was on the quick backup. Missed last week so should be up for this.
HIGH POINT made a good fist of the drop in grade February 18 Is a lengths better horse on the markers so barrier seven hurts. Up to the task.
FLEETING GRIN hasn't had the ideal runs of late and we know he has been there and done that. Can lead and try and grind them into the dirt.
OPTICAL ILLUSION went to premier night at Auckland last Friday and stuck on for fifth. Given they ran home in 56.2 his run was faultless. It comes down to where he lands.
SUNSET RED always gives 100%. Relished a war February 11 and when the others are tired she will still be running on.

Best Bet: Race 7 (9) Delson
Each Way Value: Race 6 (5) Brookies Jaffa
