January 31 deadline for $600,000 TAB Trot

Potential slot-holders now have just over a fortnight to secure a place in the $600,000 TAB Trot at Cambridge's Night of Champions on April 10.

The deadline for the Listed feature is January 31, 2026 with Cambridge Raceway increasingly confident they will have at least eight starters in the race.

Right now there are five slots confirmed, with interest from both sides of the Tasman.

The two previous editions of the race have both been won by Australians, Just Believe and Arcee Phoenix. Already it's been announced that former Inter Dominion winner The Locomotive won't be making the trip. The 25-race winner has suffered a setback and is having at least three months off.

The Night of Champions' feature pace, the $1m The Race by betcha is already a sell-out, with the 10 slots all being secured early last month.

Defending champion Leap To Fame is expected to return this year as is 2024 champion Merlin. The two previous winners of the race were Self Assured and Copy That.
