Huge night at the Big M for Dunn

Dexter Dunn's had some big nights at the Meadowlands. And Saturday night must rate right up there.

Not only did the 10-time Kiwi driving champion have five wins on the night at the Big M in New Jersey, but Bulldog Hanover's victory equalled the world record held by Always B Miki and Lather Up.

The four-year-old won in 1:46 to finish nearly two lengths clear of Allywag Hanover and Abuckabett Hanover in third.

“(Dexter) was sort of speechless,” trainer Noel Daley said after the race, "(Dexter) said it took a half-mile to pull him up tonight, too.”

It was Bulldog Hanover's 19th win in just 27 starts.

Always B Miki was the first to go 1:46 at the Red Mile in 2016, with Lather Up following suit at the Meadowlands in 2019.

Dunn, the three-time Harness Writers Association Driver of the Year in North America, had a stellar night that also saw former Kiwi Jack's Legend win in 1:47.8.

Dunn's other wins came with Pink Coco Chanel, Alrajah One It and gun trotter Bella Bellini who won in a career best 1:50.1.

He has 117 wins from 623 drives this year with his stakes at nearly $2.7m.
