HRNZ's annual awards on tonight!

It's harness racing's big night.

And at around 10pm tonight we will all know who harness racing's high achievers are for the 2024 season, including the coveted Harness Racing New Zealand Horse of the Year.

Around 300 people are expected to attend tonight's function in the Christian Cullen Lounge at Addington Raceway, with doors opening at 5.15pm and the first award being handed out at 6pm.

Well-known racing personalities Michael Guerin and Matt Markham will be the night's hosts.

A wide range of awards will be handed out including all the age group winners, the Broodmare and Stallions of the Year and the year's best Owners and Breeders.

For the first time Australian horses are eligible to win awards, but only for their achievements on this side of the Tasman in 2024.

Many other people in the industry will also be recognised including a special someone for their "Outstanding Contribution to Harness Racing".

There will be a few other surprises as well.

HRNZ's Facebook page will have regular updates during the night and there will be a full summary of all the winners on the HRNZ website when the awards conclude around 10.15pm.
