Harness Jewels update - May 10

The 2YO Ruby has seen the biggest movements in the IRT Harness Jewels leaderboards this week.

It’s three weeks out from harness racing’s big day at Cambridge on June 6, where there will be nine $100,000 Group One races. The top 12 in each category go through to their respective final.

In the 2YO Ruby, Double Delight’s win on debut for trainer-driver Tony Herlihy on Friday night at Alexandra Park has propelled her to 4th place, with Kowhai Sunset going from 14th to 5th on the back of his win for trainer-driver Mark Jones at Rangiora yesterday.

Ahwel was also a winner, at Cambridge last Thursday, and goes from 16th to 6th.

Among other changes Night Watch, seventh last week, has been withdrawn, with One Tree Hill slipping out of the top 12, going from 11th to 15th.

In the 3YO Ruby eleventh-placed Peregrine has been withdrawn, with Royal Del going from 13th to 12th while in the 4YO Ruby 10th ranked Cracker Hill has been withdrawn with Majestic Harry moving up to 12th from 15th.

In the 2YO Diamond Artisan (fifth), Nutcracker (9th) and Chantilly (11th) have all been withdrawn. Anna Love goes from 13th to tenth following her win at Rangiora, Woodlea Beaver is up four places to 11th, and Allegra goes from 16th to 12th.

Twelfth-placed Better’s Tart has been withdrawn from the 3YO Diamond, with Allamericanlover going from 17th to 12th.

In the 4YO event Miss Auckland (8th) has been withdrawn, with Terror Maria going from 13th to 12th.

In the 2YO Emerald 10th placed Casino Action has been withdrawn, with Willow Bay going from 19th to 11th after his win at Addington last Friday night.

There is just one change in the 3YO Emerald. Dashing Major (11th) has been withdrawn with Yorokobi going from 13th to 12th .

There's been some re-shuffling in the 4YO Emerald but the top 12 remains unchanged.

We will further update the leaderboards next week as the countdown continues to Harness Jewels 2021.
