Geraldine closes in on their big day
By Dave Di Somma - Harness News Desk
It looked doubtful for a while but the Geraldine Trotting Club will hold a meeting at its home course this Saturday.
Orari was initially omitted from the racing calendar, prompting the club to look at hosting one meeting at Methven, a fifty minute drive away.
But the club got a reprieve and is determined to make the most of it, according to president Mark Weaver.
The response has been encouraging with 222 nominations and the likelihood of 11 races.
Now Weaver wants the weather to play ball – with early forecasts predicting 17 degrees and no rain.
